S=N=A=R=K Filmography

S=N=A=R=K Filmography

“The act of composition
in the writing is radically
performulaic.”
—Joan Retallack,
The Poetic Wager

Actually, though, it’s the “performance” angle that interests me—whether it’s movies or poetry. Much of Language Poetry (Charles Bernstein’s snarky books Rough Trades & The Girly Man) seems to be simply performing Stein in new ways.

“Nothing changes except composition the composition and the time of and the time in the composition.”—Gertrude Stein, Composition as Explanation

I suppose that’s why I’m interested in Buñuel and Los Olvidados. As well as Tender Buttons and Drive In Snark Surrealism. As well as Cage…and camp.

To me reading poetry is performance. Not like a public reading—more like a NetFlix reading. Moviegoer Lit.

If it's alive, baby...it’s Living Dead.

If Stein is correct about composition = continuous present, then where is this continuous compositional moment?

Hollywood movies, mall cineplexes, you-tube…

I want a you-tube poetics.

“And now to begin as if to begin. Composition is not there, it is going to be there but we are here.”—Gertrude Stein

Entering Tender Moments & performing it as Film…

Getting the Text from “there” to “here”…

The sooner the better…like right now.

We baby boomers got a legacy…

I call it Drive In Snark Surrealism…

We be the Snark Generation—

Hollywood sold us down the drain, baby.

Sexploitation movies made millions…

The same with Blaxploitation…

Now’s the time for Snarkploitation…

Somewhere over the Rainbow Blogosphere…

It goes beyond TV Guide—a little bit, baby…

Dontchaknow?
