A Bio

MISS CAPOTE: A BIO

“He took back the book,
making reading another
kind of cinema.”
—James McCourt, Queer Street

Isn’t that what Miss Capote did—
calling it a “non-fiction” novel?

Doing what Raymond Chandler did—
imitating modernist cinema?

Transumptively recasting the novel—
as “Murder My Sweet” movie?

Letting Claire Trevor do Fag Film Noir—
pretending to be gay femme fatale?

Alcoholism, drugs, betrayal—
isn’t that how Miss Capote ended?
