Like in some temple
Luxor towering—
Douglas Firs like skyscrapers
Up the mountain slopes
Yet many fallen—
Giants scattered in graveyards
Like Roman columns
Elegant ruins—
More heartbreaking than Athens
Leaning tombstones down
