Dearest Dorian

“But adoring someone is
certainly better than being
adored.”—Oscar Wilde

Being adored, my dear—
is simply an annoying nuisance
you’ll find that out over time

You'll discover, Dorian—
that lovers treat us just as
humanity treats its gods

They worship us and keep—
bothering us to do something
for them, money, etc.

The tricks who’ve admired me—
and there have been some, have always
insisted on living long after I've ceased

They care only for themselves—
but then what can I say, isn’t that
what makes them so charming?

Young male lovers totally into—
themselves and their youthful life
isn’t that what we need to know?
