Fallen Trees

FALLEN TREES

Down by the Ipsut—
Along the rushing river
Glacier white & fast

The younger trees fall—
Like rows of dominoes down
Wiped out by currents

The giant Cedars—
And Douglas Firs high 
Above take their time

They’re like dynasties—
So ancient high up there 
But down below though…
