The Wolf Boy

The Wolf Boy (1943)

"Night monster—
with the blood lust
of a savage beast!"

"Nightmares—being human

Monster dreams—being wolf

With the bad blood—my Big Daddy

Blood lust—my father Lon Chaney Jr

Of my birth—Evelyn Ankers my mother

Savage wolfbane nights—beneath full moons

Beast boy—wolf boy of the night!!!

Even a boy who is pure in heart and says his prayers by night, may become a wolf when the wolfbane blooms and the autumn moon is bright. Whoever is bitten by a werewolf and lives becomes a werewolf himself. All men are amateurs. When it comes to the woods, there's only one professional. The way of the wolf I walk is thorny, through no fault of my own, but as the rain enters the soil, the river enters the sea, so tears run to their predestined end. My suffering will be over some day, and as sure as Bela is my name, I will someday find peace. I show Maria Ouspenskaya my palm—she tells me go now and heaven help you!
