The Man with the X-Ray Eyes

The Man with the X-Ray Eyes (1963)

I dreamed one night—late
I was Ray Milland—my Fate
I had a pair of—X-Ray glasses
I could see—like Picasso

I could see—multiple faces
Les Demoiselles—d’Avignon
African masks—on my models
Red Light—Barcelona boyz

I could see—Kahnweiler
Ghostly—fragmented
Cubist—portraiture
Planes—and POV’s

I could see—like Gris
Flattening out—kaleidoscopic
Details—draughtsman-like
Synthetic—stunned by stained-glass

I could see—like Braque
Still lives—collages
Elegant—riddling
Cézanne—carivalesque

I could see—like Kandinsky
Sudden cleavages—in my room
Composing—salons of
Themselves—action motion color

I could see thru—Composition #7
My X-Ray eyes—took over
Improvising—impromptu
Ad lib—like this Page…
